Facebook Internally Testing Dating App within Employees

With WhatsApp already a subsidiary, Facebook is already the leading name in terms of connecting people but the company is all set to further its monopoly by introducing a fresh new mobile dating app, similar to TrulyMadly and Tinder. About two months ago, the company had announced its plans and now, it has begun testing its new project internally within their employees.

At the May 2018 F8 developer conference, the company has announced the dating product in the U.S. saying they were concentrating on formulating a platform for relationships rather than merely hookups. The app is expected to have strong measures for privacy and safety, keeping the focus on only suggesting new friends who are out of the circle or someone who are not seeing your profile. The new feature will remain distinct from the individuals’ Facebook profiles, but will show potential recommendations on the basis of their dating history, preference, commonness, and mutual friends.

The audiences will also have the option of discovering totally new people that have similar interest from events or groups. That being said, what is being done within the dating app will remain immune to the Facebook page. According to the chief of the new Facebook product, Chris Cox, the design has already been revealed, which has showcased a fresh feature named as unlocking, which makes the profile visible to others.

Will this app be paid or free for use like Facebook? This remains to be seen. The company may introduce a paid subscription based method for extra functionalities for their audiences but no formal announcement has been made on the subject as yet.
