Key Aspects Organizations Should Study for Efficient AI Incorporation

Artificial intelligence

Artificial intelligence (AI) has touched every field of life—right from healthcare, education, finance, and banking to military activities. The technology helps in improving the quality of work. However, its incorporation into organizations is not an easy task to do. Last year, IDC carried out a study on the acceptance of AI in various organizations. The outcomes highlighted that there were about 60% of companies reporting changes in their business model due to AI implementation.

While implementing AI, the most important aspect the organizations should focus on is their approach to deal with the failed AI projects. The recent IDC study underlined the fact that organizations participating in this study reported 50% of failures due to impracticable expectations form these projects. To avoid such consequences, companies should consider working on some aspects.

  • Human Impact

The introduction of AI in any organization has an impact on the work, behavior, and decision-making abilities of employees as well as customers of that organization. It introduces opportunities for employees to learn new skills. Moreover, AI doesn’t have the capability, precise context, and parameters to respond to a situation appropriately. This highlights the need for defining these parameters by offering proper human inputs. Doing so will lead to getting the desired AI project results that support employee roles.

  • Decision Thinking

While implementing any AI projects, organizations need to change their focus from just a business perspective to the impact of these AI projects on end-users. They should consider the impact of AI on humans—be it a customer or an employee. These projects should aid organizations in improving overall user experience.

  • Learning for Failure

While traditional ways of doing business give you total surety of success, incorporating new technologies such as AI can sometimes lead to failures. The organization should develop an approach to accept failures and learn from these antagonistic situations. Every failure faced by a company can aid it in understandings the new aspects of this technology.
