Genesis’ G70 to Challenge German Automobiles

Genesis’ first compact sports sedan will propel the emergent luxury brand onto the shopping lists by challenging its German rivals directly on each and every level, says the firm. The newly unveiled, G70, has barged into a nearly crowded segment, which boasts of Mercedes-Benz C class and BMW 3 series. The car, which will be introduced in the next year as a 2019 model, is expected be the first actual test of whether the luxury marque, the spun-off of Hyundai Motor Group, can create a momentum behind the augmenting yet meager lineup.

Subsequent to the flagship G90 and the midsized G80 sedans, the entry-level model, G70, fleshes out the sedan portfolio and aims at increasing the volume sales at a much lower price. It also prefigures a new styling language. However, the enterprise is yet to introduce any crossovers, in spite of the significant surge in the demand in this segment. Though executives think the establishment of the brand’s performance through sport sedan is more important. The top-notch G70 will be equipped with a 3.3-ltr turbocharged V-6 engine, which generates nearly 365 hp and goes 0 to 62 mph in just 4.7 seconds, with reaching its peak at 167 mph.

Manfred Fitzgerald, the Genesis boss, stated at the research and development center proving ground of Hyundai Motor Group near Seoul. that one need to showcase the width of the band to gain an acceptance for their brand.
